What would unemployment pay me?
California pays based on your best three months of pay in the past year and a half. This estimate uses EDD's own benefit table. EDD makes the final call.
Train instead of just searching
Under California Training Benefits, you can keep getting unemployment while you're in approved training, and you don't have to look for work while you're enrolled. Ask EDD before your 16th week of benefits to qualify for extra weeks. EDD doesn't pay tuition, so pair it with a fee waiver or a training scholarship from the Tri-Valley Career Center.
